From this consultation process and based on finding of various tourism and economic studies over previous years, emerged the obvious potential for the development of:-
Such developments in both communities would:

  • provide a physical maritime linkage
  • add value to the regions
  • create local employment
  • encourage other associated marine developments
  • open up new tourism markets
  • provide new tourism facilities
  • attract a high spend visitor who is currently prohibited from visiting either areas
  • provide infrastructure that the discerning boating tourist will find in other European holiday
  • destinations
  • enhance the economic and social well-being of the indigenous populations.
  • encourage the development of water sports for local youth.

Upon completion and a positive outcome, the groups move on to construct the capital projects in both locations.
